Saint Elizabeth of Hungary
As queen of Hungary, Elizabeth had every opportunity to immerse herself
in the palace social functions and adorn herself with the bejeweled dresses
of the day. Despite her position, however, Elizabeth devoted her life to
caring for the sick and poor and turned her back on the life-style that
was expected of her.
Stories of Elizabeth's holiness and charity spread all over Europe,
and she was canonized four years after her death.
Gown style 104 is dedicated to Elizabeth of Hungary.
